There are plenty of activities to enjoy on the raft, including socializing, relaxing in the sauna, and floating in a specially lit tub. Enjoy a delicious meal with food and drinks arranged on a buffet table. Grill on the gas barbecue, take in the scenery and sunset, and dance on the second-floor terrace. Relax and sunbathe on the lounge beds located on the second floor. Enjoy open water swimming, paddle boating, and fun SUPing (stand-up paddleboarding). Relax in sauna. Take in the seascape, go ashore by boat, snap beach photos, sing karaoke, and dance, dance, dance!
Can I rent a raft in winter?
Even in early spring
or late autumn, the raft can be rented in comfort while it's on the water, as a
large part of the raft is enclosed with an electronically retractable roof and
transparent side walls. And when the sauna fireplace is lit, all the rooms
become warm, cozy, and enjoyable. We can even assure you that sauna parties in
cooler weather have their own magic and added charm. Just imagine warming up in
the sauna, then cooling off in the crisp waters of the Gauja or Lielupe rivers,
followed by warming up again in the tub. How does that sound? And on the way
back to the pier, relax on the roof, wrapped in blankets, sipping hot tea and
soaking in the sunset. Magic? Yes, we think the cool seasons have their charm
too.
What safety precautions should I follow on a raft?
As the raft is on the water and in a floating/running position, the main safety precautions are as follows: children under 12 must wear safety vests, swimming is only allowed when the raft is anchored, jumping from the second-floor railing is prohibited, a safety ankle strap must be attached when swinging, exceeding the maximum number of persons is prohibited, and adults are responsible for the safety of children on board. Non-water safety precautions include following the instructions for heating the sauna and bathtub, being cautious with fire and gas when using the barbecue, and smoking only in the designated area to avoid any fire hazards.
Can I swim from the raft?
Not only can you swim from the raft, but you should swim from it—but the rule is: swim only when the raft is anchored. The skipper will inform you of the water depth at the location.
Why is the minimum booking time 4 hours?
The minimum booking time is set to ensure you have enough time to fully enjoy the magic of a raft party. At the appointed time, the raft will depart and take you through the river's waves to the point where the river meets the sea. Together, we’ll find the most beautiful spot, anchor the raft, and then you'll be able to swim. The journey from the pier to the estuary takes about 25-30 minutes round trip, during which no activities can be done outside the raft. That’s why we set a minimum booking time to ensure you have enough time to fully enjoy the experience. But... with the skipper’s agreement, the booking time can be extended, and this happens quite often, because once you're on board, you won’t want to go ashore—it’s simply too nice!
Can I book for a time shorter or longer than 4 hours?
You can book 4 hours, but stay shorter. There may be exceptions in special cases, of course, but 4 hours is the standard minimum.
Do I need to bring charcoal with me for grilling?
For grilling, only bring what you want to cook, as there is a gas grill on board. Barbecue utensils and tools are also available on board.
Are there crockery available on the raft?
Plates, utensils, and glasses are provided on the raft based on the maximum number of people. Some serving trays and bowls are also available. There is also a small fridge/cooler for chilling sparkling drinks or food.
Can children be on the raft?
Of course, they can, and we have safety vests available for children. Children under 12 must wear safety vests.
Can the raft be used in the rain?
There’s no such thing
as bad weather for a raft party—they’re always great! In the rain, the raft's
anteroom is enclosed with a roof and transparent side walls, transforming the
entire ground floor into a sheltered space. But... does rain really matter when
you're surrounded by the most fantastic people?
